The Ministry of National Mobilisation will soon roll out phase two of its ‘suffer relief’ grant programme which will see persons in the red and orange zones affected by the volcanic eruption continue to receive financial support from the government while being empowered to get back on their feet.

This was announced by minister of National Mobilisation, Orando Brewster at a news conference on Tuesday as he addressed a number of issues his ministry has embarked on for volcano affected persons.

The minister said that more than five hundred households will benefit from the “suffer relief” programme.

The first phase of the “suffer relief grant” programme saw thousands of volcano affected persons receiving income support through Western Union, the World food Programme and UNICEF. Brewster said the government has allocated two million dollars in the supplementary budget which will be use for the second phase of the programme which starts this month.
