Commissioner of Police Colin John has apologised to Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves for what transpired at the protest in capital Kingstown last Thursday August 5th and also for the injury the prime minister sustained.

On The Beat programme on NBC radio on Tuesday Commissioner John said the police personnel did not effectively fulfill their mandate on the day of the protest.

The commissioner said what transpired on the day of the protest was very dark noting that the protest in itself was also held illegally.
